Our client are very well established successful main contractor working in stable markets with public sector clients often negotiated.

The business has secure pipeline for this year and has made considerable headway in enquiries for 2021.

The role has a career path available so is not a dead end role either.

They are looking for a Business Development & Marketing Manager to enhance their management team. Effectively promote and sell the companies services to established and new prospect clients and consultants across the North West so that profitable business opportunity is generated and secured which contributes to the achievement of annual business plans. The development of sustainable relationships that support the company’s objectives is critical.

This position will focus on generating project/business opportunity through customer and consultant contact and business development skills; customer/consultant/project suspecting, qualifying, prospecting and closing with a high degree of decision making to achieve targets. The role will include preparation and presentation of proposals to secure opportunities and contracts, working alongside the line director and colleagues in the Pre-Construction and Operational teams. NW/UK travel will be required. An interest in and experience in contributing to the company’s Marketing platforms is also required.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Generate project/business opportunities through customer/consultant contact to meet company’s business plans and growth strategies.
  • Achieve Enquiry targets monthly, quarterly and annually.
  • Seek customers/consultants operating in company target markets through research and direct contact with potential customers/consultants. Undertake suspecting and prospecting to generate new client/consultant and project leads, converting to tender/pricing/negotiation enquiry. Develop new customer/consultant relationships.
  • Follow-up project/client/consultant leads by appointment, email, text, telephone and correspondence
  • Ensure all communication with customers is in accordance with company standards and correct in content and format.
  • Prepare and submit individual client/consultant call reports. Submit timely reports monthly to management.
  • Maintain customer/potential customer/consultant contact lists to maintain database on suspects, prospects, clients, consultants and industry contacts.
  • Attend and contribute to Business Development, Marketing, Pre-Construction Meetings as required.
  • Suggest, organise, manage and attend appropriate corporate hospitality functions with colleagues and guests.
  • Assist when required to do so in the preparation of detailed tailored ‘Pre-Qualification’ and Invitation to Tender proposal documents for identified UK ‘OJEU’* equivalent strategic business opportunities to win new contracts. Liaise with colleagues and senior managers to ensure accuracy of information and data to be used in submissions.
  • Assist with the preparation of ’Approved List’ Questionnaire responses for submission to clients and others for various approvals.
  • Collaborate with company management to prepare and implement the company’s Marketing and Business Development Plan.
  • To operate in accordance with company Procedures and Codes of Conduct.
  • Any other reasonable duties considered necessary to contribute to the effectiveness of the Group, and to keep management regularly informed.
