£65,000 - £70,000 + Package

Our client is an established contractor with over 50 years’ experience. Following a sustained period of growth and success, the business are now looking to recruit a Commercial Manager/Managing Quantity Surveyor to join their established residential division based in Lancashire.

Role & Responsibilities -

Manage and develop the commercial team, ensuring workload is covered effectively and to ensure compliance and processes are being followed

Manage daily company operations

Maximise cash flow through the control, measurement and valuation of work, and the invoicing of customers and payment of suppliers

Produce/ compile accurate forecasts/ budget information and produce accurate reports to client, maintaining and improving stakeholder relations as well as ensuring full entitlement under the contract is achieved

Ensure contract commercial deliverables and timescales are met

Assess, review and mitigate commercial and contractual risks

Look for opportunities to grow the business, whether through partnerships or new initiatives, and work to take advantage of those opportunities

Analyse sales and other reports that give insight into how the company can make adjustments to improve performance

Assist Commercial Directors and work as a member of a cohesive team

Resolve issues with contracts and commercial operations

Assess risks and make recommendations based on a thorough analysis of all factors involved in a business situation

Coach employees on best practices for managing contract issues and handling daily issues and tasks

The successful candidate will be:

  • Experienced Commercial Management / Managing Quantity Surveying professional with a strong track record within UK new build residential development projects
  • Ambitious professional with experience of managing multiple surveyors/sites
  • You'll need to be confident with programme delivery, budget forecasting and change management
  • Have a proven ability to managing a large scheme as a number 1, be it as a Managing Surveyor or Project Commercial Manager
  • Experience working on a multimillion-pound high volume new build residential developments be it working in a main contract or developer environment from start to finish
  • Proven leadership skills relating to mentoring developing and managing surveying staff.
