Cost & Bonus Surveyor

£40-45k plus car or allowance, pension, healthcare, 24 days holiday

Rochdale, Lancashire

Our client are a leading building and civils main contractor based in Lancashire who are now recruiting a Cost and Bonus Surveyor to compile, analyse, and report cost information of in-house trades and operatives for the Labour Manager in order for labour costs to be controlled and correct wages to be paid in accordance with weekly site production.

Key Tasks

The weekly measurement of completed contract work by the Company’s in-house operative team;

The negotiation of weekly operative wages;

The reporting and analysis of weekly wages and cost information;

The compiling of piece work rates and issuing of information to site management and operatives;

The storing of historical data in order to establish cost trends and current market benchmarks.

Person Specification

Excellent communicator, able to comfortably liaise with site personnel, customers, and management through email, telephone, and in person;

Negotiation skills;

Understanding and application of construction measurement and works processes;

Ability to analyse and interpret construction cost information, rates of pay, market trends, and application of this knowledge to the Group’s sites in order to ensure efficient trade operations with budget constraints;

Diligent approach to information gathering, application, and dissemintation;

Self-motivated, attentive, and able to adapt to work-in-hand;

IT. literate;

Ability to multi-task and work to deadlines.
