Location - Preston

The overall purpose of the role is to continue the development of a high performance workforce, the Head of People is required to deliver a strongly people orientated culture. This means contributing to a brand that attracts talented people and creates the best construction team in the UK.

The role requires an outstanding people person, who can balance the needs of the individual and the needs of the business to deliver increased growth and profitability and engagement and satisfaction.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop an induction programme that creates a strong first impression and provides people with the knowledge required to succeed
  • Align the teams around the companies vision, mission and values to create a culture of high performance
  • Implement a training and development programme which sets clear career paths and grows the next generation of leaders
  • Develop the strategic and leadership abilities of the current management teams to deliver the business objectives
  • Implement a rigorous recruitment and selection process to recruit and retain highly skilled people who fit with the companies culture
  • Automate people processes and procedures to reduce costs and free up management time
  • Implement a performance review process that improves individual and team performance and addresses any underperformance
  • Design a compensation and benefits package that rewards high performance
  • Design an employee engagement programme to increase satisfaction and productivity
  • Implement a wellbeing programme to support the physical and emotional health of employees
  • Equip managers to support operational teams who deliver an outstanding service to customers
  • Develop goals, objectives, and KPI’s which support senior management objectives
  • Implement HR policies and procedures that eliminate risks to the business
  • Find ways to increase productivity and outputs in order to reduce costs and promote efficiency
  • Develop a communication plan that keep employees well informed about the business
