Planner – Construction

£60-65k plus car allowance, pension, healthcare, 25 days holiday


Our client is a main blue chip contractor that works in the North West are and has a need for a Construction Planner at both the pre-contract and delivery planning stage.

The schemes you will work on as a Planner will be varied and cover markets sectors from education, leisure, healthcare, MOD to student accommodation.Scheme values will range from £1m to £15m covering most forms of contract.

The work is procured through 1st and 2nd stage tendering as well as negotiated/framework schemes. You will have a team to work with and an experienced Planning Manager to work with also.

Key responsibilities;

1) Complete the planning process with a high degree of commercial acumen and skill.

2) Complete site visits and site visit reports. On 100% of tenders visit site and complete a site visit report to the required standard.
3) Prepare a tender planning report that highlights for the bid team key planning and programming elements of the project.
4) Preparation of informed and auditable tender programmes that utilise known outputs and sequences, or have agreement by liaison with subcontractors on anticipated periods.
5) Production of tender plans and programmes that are clear and understandable and demonstrate that a thorough and robust approach to planning has been adopted.
6) Approach to tender planning that actively seeks during preparation opportunities for innovation and value engineering that is shared with the tender bid team.

7) Production of programme commentaries and planning method statement that articulate a comprehensive understanding of the way the business intends to approach and execute the project.
8) Take an active role in preparing and delivering project presentations at all required stages of procurement.
