Project Quantity Surveyor

£55,000 - £60,000

North West – Warrington

Our client, a Regional Traditional Contractor with a turnover of £50m - £60m, are looking to recruit a Project Quantity Surveyor to join their team in the North West.

The Project QS will be working on various projects including residential, care homes and industrial from £10m-£15m.

Role of Project Quantity Surveyor:

  • Budget preparation
  • Preparation of accurate and prudent cost/value analysis
  • Pricing and rating variations and compensation events
  • Maintenance of cost information and providing information for timely and accurate applications for payment
  • Interim and Final Account measurement – site measurement and drawing take off
  • Interim payment and final account agreement of subcontracts
  • Verification and agreement of sundry accounts
  • Ensure the effective performance, management and development of their direct reports and the effective organisation of everyone working directly for them.
  • Supervise the activities of others to meet deadlines and quality standards taking account of impact outside area of responsibility.

Key Accountabilities of Project Quantity Surveyor

Procurement of suppliers / subcontractors / consultants, consistent with the companies standards and procurement strategy.

Drafting of Contractual Correspondence

  • Assist in producing project procurement strategy documentation, in putting into planning activities with horizons of typically up to 6 months.
  • Maintain robust and consistent change control processes on the project to identify and agree appropriate changes / variations with the Employers’ Representatives.
  • Identify risks and opportunities and evaluate options.
  • Carry out any other reasonable quantity surveying related tasks as directed by Line Manager or referred to in BMS Quality Procedures.
  • Advising on construction economies and value engineering on D&B Projects.
