Quantity Surveyor


£30,000 - £40,000

The main purpose of the Quantity Surveyor is to manage the costs of new build and refurbishment projects.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities

Responsibility for placing the sub contract orders on projects up to a value of £4 million

Responsible for monitoring sub contract prices to ensure they are in line with orders

Responsibility for monitoring and getting approval for project variations

Responsibility for providing financial valuations to clients and agreeing payment

Responsibility for approving sub-contractor valuations for payment

Responsibility for monitoring and reporting on project cost and value

Responsibility for project drawing issue and control to ensure the latest drawings are available for the site team

You will require a good understanding of JCT contracts – traditional and design & build

Working with sub-contractors to resolve any legal or contractual matters

You are required to work as part of a team to complete work related tasks to ensure the smooth running of the projects and the Business as a whole.

You are required to attend training courses as appropriate.

Required Competencies Skills & Qualifications

You will ideally have one-two years’ experience working as a Surveyor/ QS/Trainee/Assistant

Good communication skills

Well organised

Good IT skills

Enjoys working as part of a close knit team
