Summary

The successful candidate will be site based on a large site with relevant contact from the Commercial Manager.

They will need to demonstrate a proven track record in financial and commercial management of projects ranging in value between £7m and £11m.

They will need to be responsible for any staff under their direct supervision offering them support and mentoring.

The candidate will be expected to work on one larger scheme or two smaller projects concurrently.

The successful candidate will be in possession of a BSc in Quantity Surveying.

They need to be willing and keen to undertake further training applicable to the career development programme.

Key Deliverables:

The candidate will need to demonstrate the following key deliverables.

Practical Skills:

  • IT Skills: Have a good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Work and Outlook.
  • Time management; be able to work to tight deadlines under pressure.
  • Teamwork; be able to work with a team environment.
  • Initiative: Need to be able to work on their own initiative in accordance with predetermined guidelines.
  • Driving license: They will need a current clean dull driving license.
  • Budgets: They will need to prepare and review budgets.
  • Financial control: Advise and ensure the site team are working within the budget constraints. Altering the contracts manager if budgets are being exceeded.
  • Subcontract procurement: Recommend most competitive subcontractors to contacts manager/site manager.
  • Subcontract documentation: They will need to prepare, issue and check subcontract documentation.
  • Interim valuations: must be able to produce and issue on time monthly applications and ensure that payment is received on time from the employer.
  • Contracts administration: Deal with all commercial aspects of the contract with the employer.
  • Cost reports: Provide accurate cost/value reports each moth including accurate margin forecasts at completion.
  • Subcontractor payments: Review subcontract applications and make payments in accordance with agreed dates.
  • Measurement: Produce detail measures of all works.
  • Final accounts: Agree final accounts with subcontractors and Employer.
